March 2022 Newsletter

I am honored to serve as the President of the Georgia Association for Women in Higher Education (GAWHE). GAWHE is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to providing professional support for women educators, administrators, and researchers in Higher Education in Georgia. GAWHE is part of the ACE (American Council on Education) Women’s Network national system of networks within each state, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. The ACE Women’s Network is supported in Georgia by GAWHE officers and members, a state coordinator, institutional representatives, and a presidential sponsor. Our dear President, Dr. Jacobs, has been a longtime supporter of the organization and is a presidential sponsor. Among the many initiatives we host in-person and virtually, GAWHE offers an annual conference that features stellar keynote speakers, valuable presenters, a leadership panel, and a presidential panel. Our conference is a three-day event at the end of February when women gather, learn, and network. Every year GAWHE awards three Louise McBee scholarships to talented women and their mentors. We are expanding and including more opportunities for volunteers. If you are not a member yet, I kindly invite you to join us: www.gawhe.org. I look forward to serving you.
