VACATION LEAVE All unused accrued vacation/annual leave, not to exceed 45 days (360 hours), shall be paid to an employee upon his/her termination from employment. WHO IS ELIGIBLE? If you are a: Regular, full-time, or part-time benefits-eligible employee you can accrue vacation hours. Note that regular (9 month) faculty do not accrue vacation time. HOW MUCH CAN I CARRY OVER TO THE NEXT YEAR? Unused vacation time will roll over each year; however, on December 31 of each calendar year, each employee's leave record shall be adjusted to reflect no more than 45 days (360 hours) of accrued vacation/annual leave. WHAT HAPPENS TO MY UNUSED VACATION HOURS WHEN I LEAVE UNG? Full-Time Staff 0 to 5 years earn 10 hours per month 5 to 10 years earn 12 hours per month 10 + years earn 14 hours per month Part-Time Regular (30-39 hours per week) Accrue vacation hours in an equivalent ratio to their percentage of time employed. Part-Time Regular (less than half-time) Do not earn or accrue vacation time. Temporary Employees (Student assistants, graduate assistants, part-time instructors, less than half time) Do not earn or accrue vacation time. 6
