Discovering the Divine A look into Black Greek Life in America The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), often referred to as the divine nine greeks, is the collective group of historically black fraternities and sororities in the United States. It originated in May 1930 with five organizations and wasn’t at its full affiliate membership until 1997 when Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. joined.
