The Eagle Fund Endowed Scholarship provides support for members of the UNG Corps of Cadets who demonstrate leadership potential, qualities of high moral character, and are actively pursuing a commission in the U.S. Armed Forces. The Eagle Fund was founded in 2011 by six alumni who recognized the need of providing financial support to the future military leaders of our country. Under the leadership of Oscar “Bo” Fears and an active board of volunteers, the scholarship has grown a substantial donor base of more than 505 supporters representing all alumni classes. Since its inception, The Eagle Fund has provided more than $261,000 in scholarships to 69 worthy cadets. In academic year 20222023, The Eagle Fund awarded nine scholarships. This included six returning cadets and three incoming cadets. The Eagle Fund recently received the 2023 Presidential Leadership Award for their significant contributions to the positive impact and advancement of the University of North Georgia. On behalf of the board, Cadet Judge accepted this award recently at the UNG Gala. “As I look around the room, I see the past, I see the present and I see the future of a great legacy of the Boar’s Head Brigade. You cannot look forward without looking back, just as you cannot build a sound structure without a strong foundation. For the Boar’s Head Brigade, it is our alumni, the members of The Eagle Fund, and the officers who have served our great nation and continue to serve with a focus on UNG through their support of our ROTC program and our current cadets. These men and women are our rock-solid foundation.” - c/SFC Judge 2023 Eagle Fund recipient SCHOLARSHIP SPOTLIGHT The Eagle Fund Endowed Scholarship
