11 The CPT Jeremy Alan Chandler Leadership Scholarship was created in 2006, in memory of CPT Jeremy Alan Chandler. CPT Chandler, a proud UNG graduate of the Class of 1997, paid the ultimate sacrifice for his country in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. It is his family’s wish that recipients of the scholarship will carry on Jeremy’s legacy through achieving their own goals. The CPT Jeremy Alan Chandler Leadership Scholarship provides support for members of the Corps of Cadets who are actively pursuing a commission in the U.S. Armed Forces, participate and compete in Ranger Challenge and demonstrate potential for leadership. Jeremy’s parents, Alan and Jonnie Chandler travel annually to UNG, to present cadets with the scholarship. Along with the scholarship, the Chandlers give cadets a photo of Jeremy and a memory bracelet so that they may carry Jeremy with them throughout their time at UNG and in their future service. “It makes me happy that students see his scholarship as more than a check. They have embraced our family and want to know about Jeremy. It really says something about the patriotism of these amazing cadets.” SCHOLARSHIP SPOTLIGHT CPT JEREMY ALAN CHANDLER LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP “As amother, I don’t want Jeremy to be forgotten.
