Volunteering with Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center means bringing joy and kindness to those living through some of the most difficult times. VOLUNTEERING STITCH BY STITCH NGHS volunteers come from all walks of life, from high school students to retired nurses to former patients. But they all have one thing in common: their giving spirit and desire to connect with others in their community. Pictured (right) are memory bears sewed by a NGHS volunteer that are given to each hospice family at no cost. Memory bears are made from a loved one’s clothing and sewn into a teddy bear shape — complete with stuffing and button eyes. It not only helps the families, but the volunteer gets so much fulfillment out of it, as well. Please consider being a volunteer. Full Memory Bear Article HERE
