UNG Department Spotlight Identity & Access Management Identity & Access Management Department focuses on the tasks surrounding the use of a UNG network account to access data and applications.
Creation & management of all UNG network accounts (students, faculty, staff, generic, contractor, affiliate, etc....) Manage application & folder access permissions (ex: PeopleSoft & U drive folders) Perform Active Directory audits Updates to UNG Directory Identity & Access Management This department primarily uses a Microsoft product called Active Directory to create network accounts with specific permissions. Details include: Due to Secure/Encrypted email services implemented by the Information Security Dept., Identity & Access Management has been able to make a major change to our new employee onboarding process. Instead of coordinating a phone call, they are now able to send an encrypted email to the new employee's personal email address, providing their password immediately after the account has been created. Exciting news!
