Family First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) On March 18, 2020, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act was enacted for the COVID-19 public health emergency. These new requirements took effect on April 1, 2020, and expired on December 31, 2020. While the paid leave entitlements may be ending, we understand that concerns regarding the pandemic remain. Employees who are directly exposed to or contract COVID-19 may require time away from work to quarantine and should continue to utilize the COVID-19 Self-Reporting Form. Employees needing to quarantine will need to use available leave covered under existing sick or vacation leave policies. If employees do not have existing sick leave available, they may use vacation leave to cover these absences. If you have COVID-19 symptoms or positive test results, you should not report to work. 5
